Geek Watch: Did you make the DTV Switch?

Posted by Kevin C. Friday, June 12, 2009

This weekend's Geek Watch is significant because today is officially the last day analog TV signals will be broadcast within the United States. So the approximately seven million plus American's who procrastinated and waited until the last minute to either subscribe to Cable TV, FIOS, Satellite TV or purchased a digital to analog converter at 12:01 am, you will officially be without television.

But, there's still hope! While supplies last, you can always purchase a converter box at Walmart, Target, Bestbuy, RadioShack and any other electronic retailer. And if you didn't snag one of the $40 Government coupons you can still sign-up for one at www.dtv.gov.

So this weekend's Geek Watch for everyone who was prepared for the DTV transitio,n is to simply watch all of your favorite television shows. Hell, even if you're not watching TV, show off a little-bit and let it run for a little while in the other room.

Congratulations, you've made it into the digital age of television!
