Nintendo Announces Wii Sports Resort Release Date

Posted by Kevin C. Thursday, April 9, 2009

Wii owners, the wait is almost over. The highly anticipated sequel to Wii Sports is just on the horizon. Nintendo has finally announced, this summer, Wii Sports Resort will first be released in Japan during the month of June, and the North American release will follow a few weeks after in July. Another bit of good news is, the Wii Motion Plus adapter will also hit retailers during the same timeframe, but there’s still no word on a Wii Sports Resort & Wii Motion Plus bundle.

We’re positive Nintendo will release a bundle (it only makes sense, think Mario Kart.) but until it’s officially announced, we’ll just keep our fingers crossed. Pricing of the two products has also not been mentioned, our guess is $49.99 for Resort and $24.99 for Motion Plus. That would give us a competitive bundle price for $59.99. It’s just a wild guess, but we’ll keep you posted when the exact pricing is released.
When it was first announced last year at E3, Wii Sports Resort grabbed everyone’s attention. With the promise of more “activities”
