As we expected and were very happy to witness, last night at the 81st Academy Awards ceremony, Heath Ledger was awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal as the Joker in 2009’s Batman: The Dark Knight. This award comes just after 13 months of Ledger’s death, from an accidental overdose during January 2009. We congratulate the Heath and the Ledger family as his role of the Joker is one we will never forget.
