This past Saturday, the UFC celebrated their 100th pay-per-view and while the match card was stacked, the most anticipated bout of the night was the rematch between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. After suffering an embarrassing defeat from Mir during Lesnar’s debut UFC match, Brock was on the rampage and was seeking revenge. After two rounds of ground and pound from Lesnar, Frank’s face was left bloodied and bruised causing referee Herb Dean to end the assault. Brock not only avenged his defeat, but he is now the undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion.
From UFC.com
“Lesnar dumped Mir on the mat early in round two, but the champion let him right back up. That almost looked to be a mistake as Mir scored with some good shots and almost caught Lesnar’s neck before they toppled to the canvas with the Minnesotan on top. And despite the chants of the crowd to stand up the fighters, Lesnar was consistently working, and after another series of huge ground strikes, Mir was left with nowhere to go, forcing referee Herb Dean to halt the bout at the 1:48 mark.”
