Alright Tony Hawk fans, get ready to throw away your controllers. It was just a few months ago during Activision’s meeting announcing their 2009 line-up when this memorable statement was made: “in the new Tony Hawk's, you're not going to be playing this game with a controller in your hands." And wow, did Activision and company deliver on that statement. The next installment of the Tony Hawk series titled “Ride” will feature the super sexy skateboard peripheral shown above. The board will solely “allow players to physically control the action through various movements and gestures on the board, which would then translate into "amazing tricks" within the game.” That’s right controllers cannot be used with this title. Its board or nothing!

We’re not sure how that’ll work out for gamers who aren’t into the “post-Wii” world of motion controlled gaming. But, you could also look at it this way; we’ve just gotten one step closer to the hover boards from Back to the Future 2.
