Batman fans rejoice! It looks as though the video game world finally
saw the bat signal and beckoned the call of cowl and did it right for
the first time in Batman: Arkham Asylum. The game focuses on the
graphic novel in which The Joker and the inmates have overtaken the
asylum, and it is up to Batman to get it back, and to confront his inner
demons, while protecting whatever sanity he has left to do so.


So far, it looks pretty faithful to the comic in that the art style
is very dark and very Batman. It focuses on a lot of detective and
sneaky work in order to complete mission to mission. From what we see,
you finally get Batman in his element and get to use his trademark
gizmos and gadgets, and his superior intellect. The graphics look jaw
dropping in the sense that they capture the whole "Dark Knight" feel for
the first time on any console in recent memory. Since the comic its
based off of is extremely violent and brutal, we expect it to follow the
same lines and hopefully see the Dark Knight in his true element, and
battling all your favorite villains. Definitely keep your eyes peeled
for the Bat Signal on this one with a release date for June 9th, 2009.
