To help celebrate the release of Resident Evil 5, Capcom has formed a partnership with the American Red Cross to host a blood donation drive. The event will be held on Friday, March 13 2009, at the World of Wonder gallery in Hollywood California, from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. Along with the complementary cookie, fans who donate will receive limited-edition Resident Evil 5 collectibles (posters, bumper stickers, buttons, etc.) to commemorate the event. A few raffles have been announced, and the prizes include copies of the Resident Evil 5 game and one lucky winner will receive the red Xbox 360® Resident Evil limited edition console. Aside from the freebies, those wanting to play RE5 will be pleased to know that several kiosks will be on hand, so you can get in a few play sessions before dropping down the $60 bucks.
We think this is a great way for Capcom to promote the upcoming release of RE5. Yeah we thought it was a little creepy at first, but it does help a great cause. Over 4 million Americans need blood every year in the US, and this is a great way to give back.
For those in the LA area and are looking to participate in this event, email the following information below to: teresa@fortyseven.com, with “Give RE5 a Shot” as the subject line.
