A View of Obama’s Inauguration From Space

Today popsci.com posted incredible aerial shots of the 2009 inauguration of Barack Obama, taken from the GeoEye-1 satellite. The GeoEye-1 satellite is “the most powerful commercial imaging satellite in the sky” and orbits 423 miles above our planet. The photos feature the enormous crowds attending the Inauguration at the Capitol and the Washington Monument.
