
On January 8, 2009, Sony announced a new partnership with MTV Networks, to bring kids, family, reality, and comedy programming to the PlayStation Network. The partnership will include downloadable TV shows and specials from the following MTV networks: MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike, Logo, CMT, The N, TV Land and Atom. The initial lineup scheduled to launch in February 2009, will include the following shows: The City, South Park, SpongeBob Square Pants, and Rock of Love: Bus with Bret Michaels. All shows will be available for download through the PSN for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.
Information regarding video quality and pricing have not been released, although we can almost guarantee high definition will be a definite option for most downloads.
