Sorry China, it seems that you’ll miss the theatrical release of Warner Brother’s Batman: Dark Knight. (But I’m sure you can pick up a dvd copy) Warner has officially announced that it has declined the release the movie in China because of “cultural sensitivities” with regard to certain aspects of the film.
Hmmm I wonder which scenes they might be refering to in the movie? It couldn’t be the violence of Dark Knight. China gave birth to kick-ass martial arts movies starring the Legendary Bruce Lee. There was nothing too over-the-top in Dark Knight in terms of "violence". I wonder, could it be the scenes where Batman enters Hong Kong to illegally to kidnap a Chinese executive? Hmmm, since Warner isn’t really talking, I guess we’ll never know.

"Based on a number of pre-release conditions that are being attached to 'The Dark Knight' as well as cultural sensitivities to some elements of the film, we have opted to forego a theatrical release of the film in China," Warner said.
“A studio spokesam declined to elaborate. "The Dark Knight" included scenes shot in Hong Kong, which could have created difficulties in convincing censors to approve the release.”
