
Don’t fall asleep and don’t go near camp Crystal Lake, two iconic horror franchises are returning to theaters. And no it’s not Freddy vs. Jason 2. First up is Jason Voorhees, returning in Friday the 13th (An original title) scheduled for a February 13th, 2009 release date. That’s an example of product placement at its finest. Next is a reboot to the Nightmare on Elm street franchise, which was just “green lit” promising to bring us a more “horrifying experience”. When talking about the film, its writer Wesley Strick claims, “It's not Freddy cracking jokes”. Nightmare on Elm Street begins filming this summer.

"It's not Freddy cracking jokes. We want to make a horrifying movie. The concept is so scary, don't fall asleep or you'll die. This guy gets you when you're most vulnerable, in your sleep.
