Thank God, the upcoming Ghostbusters game finally has a release date, and will not remain in vapor-ware limbo with StarCraft Ghost. Scheduled for a June 2009 release, a true sequel to the Ghostbusters franchise will finally hit consoles says an Atari spokesperson. Along with the good news, here a few new screenshots provided by ComputerandVideogames.com, of the upcoming game.

"Atari yesterday confirmed the game will be coming to stores (on PS3, PS2, 360, PC, Wii and DS) in June 2009, and we can't wait."

I'm a huge fan of the Ghostbusters franchise and I really hope this game does it justice. I've had the toys, watched the tv shows, and even carried the lunch box to school. If I'm flipping through the channels and come across Ghostbusters 1 or 2, I always stop and watch. There are many Ghostbusters fans like myself, and we've been waiting for many years for a sequel, game, or anything Ghostbusters releated. I just hope Atari doesn't disappoint.
